Waterloo Equestrian

Hi! My name is Grace and I’m in my third year of Environmental Engineering. I’ve been riding for 12 years and competing in Canada and the US for the past 7. In my first year of university, I competed in the Junior Hunters and qualified to show at the Royal Winter Fair, but over the past two years, I’ve taken a step back from competing to let another little girl fall in love with my horse, Roy. This is my second year on the OCEA team and I’m so excited to be one of the co-captains this year!

Hi, my name’s Lea, I’m in my fourth year of Honours Science and I’m one of the co-captains. I’ve been riding since I was 7 and showing since I was 13 years old. Before university I was showing the 1m jumpers on the Trillium Circuit and the Angelstone Silver Series. This summer I’ve been learning how to train young horses. I love being a part of Waterloo’s team because it has such a strong sense of community. All of the teammates are such wonderful people that are all so caring. The OCEA is set up to accommodate all different types of riding levels making it very inclusive. My favourite part of being on the team is that I can continue to ride competitively throughout university on a smaller budget.

Hi! My name is Gabriella and I’m in my 2nd year of Chemical Engineering. I have been riding since I was 12 years old and this will be my second year on the team. I’m excited to take on the role as a fundraising coordinator for the upcoming season and continue showing throughout the year!

Hello! My name is Callista, I have been riding and competing for most of my life. I’ve been spending this summer developing my 6 year old gelding Odin and riding lots of other fun horses! I am in the Environment, Resources and Sustainability program at Waterloo and this is my 5th year on the team. I’m excited to be stepping into the role of socials and marketing again along side Olivia.

Hey! I’m Olivia and I’ve been riding since I was 6 years old. I’m in my third year at Waterloo, minoring in Italian Studies and majoring in Legal Studies, hoping to attend law school post-grad. This will be my second year on the team and I can’t wait to help out as a social media and marketing exec! 

Hi! My name’s Hannah and I’m in my third year of Environmental Engineering. I’ve been riding since I was 9 and this is my third year on the UWEQ team. I’m excited to be the sponsorship head again this year and have a lot of fun with the team!

Hi! My name is Brooklyn, I’m in my second year of Geography and Aviation. This is my second year on the team. I’ve been riding since I was seven and showing since I was 14. I have experience in the equestrian world from starting colts to jumping 1.10m! I’m so excited for the year ahead on the OCEA circuit, and making so many fun team memories!
